Mark 4:39 (AMPC)
"And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness)."
We all have read this scripture… When Jesus is finished teaching about the Kingdom, He tells the disciples, “Let us go over to the other side” As He was sleeping a storm arose, the boat was tossed and took on water, the disciples wake Jesus and their response was PANIC… “do You not care that we are perishing?” We will come back to this scripture, but I want to ask you? What Storm are you facing right now? Many of us on the line here in South Florida have been experiencing the storm conditions of Tropical Storm ETA… but there are more storms that have been brewing beyond the tropics… … the storm of the election … the storm of believing God’s Prophetic Voices … the storm of a spike in COVID cases … the storm of economic uncertainty … Then there are your personal, professional, physical storms!
In watching the news the local and civil authorities tell us how to prepare for a storm. If you live in an apartment community like me, maybe you have certain measures that you must take to secure your property. But doesn't God do the same thing? Let’s look at a couple scriptures and then I want to bring it closer to home for us men. Especially those of us who have been on the prayer line for some time. 1 Samuel 13:5-13 (NKJV)
"Then the Philistines gathered together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude. And they came up and encamped in Michmash, to the east of Beth Aven. When the men of Israel saw that they were in danger (for the people were distressed), then the people hid in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in holes, and in pits. And some of the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead.
As for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling. Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt offering. Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
And Samuel said, “What have you done?”
Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering.”
And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever." Saul received instructions from Samuel which was instructions from The Lord, wait seven days until I come! But, what Saul did when it appeared that Samuel’s word fell and he wasn’t coming, then Saul took matters in his own hands. Saul ignored the Man of God’s instructions and never saw it as ignoring God! Let’s look at another man who faced several storms and what did he do in the storm. Genesis 40:5-7 (NKJV)
"Then the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, had a dream, both of them, each man’s dream in one night and each man’s dream with its own interpretation. And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his lord’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?”
Genesis 40:14-15 (NKJV)
"But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon.”
It was two more years in prison for Joseph! How many of us could endure two more years of uncertainty and still obey God? So let's bring this closer to home and let's look at the storm of the election.
Monday: The Man of God shared on the prayer line that we must invoke our Angels that are assigned to engage and protect and respond to God’s Word.
Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)
"Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word."
Tuesday: The Man of God reveal to us on the prayer line that there will be great warfare against us because we are on the verge of a breakthrough and the enemy’s job is to get you and I to doubt! In fact, he encouraged us to establish God’s Will by speaking what we see in God.
He reminded us of the Word of the Lord through Prophet Grant that the Manifestations of the Promises of God would be in 90 days!
Today, November 9th is the 90th day!
Wednesday: The Man of God shared with us what the Lord spoke to him, “How Do I Get The Glory?”
That was a question we ALL should be been receiving from God?
The purpose to keep our eyes on God only! What was your response in the storm of this election? What did you say or allow to be expressed in your actions? Personally, I woke up refreshed and more confident that the opposing force the natural outcome was not going to override what God spoke.
To neutralize the action
To make (something) no longer valid
Have our actions or our attitudes override what God said? Have we been acting like Saul and letting the media or the people around us pull us away from God?
We can turn around our actions and our attitudes to faith, trust and confidence in God and His Word (that in spite of the Outcome, it doesn’t change the Validity of God’s Word!)
We can be men like Joseph that regardless of the storm, the rejection, the lies, the betrayal, those outward things do not change who God has made us to be internally, in Christ!
The only way there could be a great calm or a perfect peacefulness on that sea that night, was because there was a great calm and perfect peacefulness in Christ.
So Be It Unto You, According to your Faith Mighty Men of Authority, Power, Calm and Peace!
