What The Father Does, The Son Does- Paul S. Jacobs

John 5:19-20 (MSG):So Jesus explained himself at length. “I’m telling you this straight.

The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what he sees the Father doing. What the

Father does, the Son does. The Father loves the Son and includes him in everything he is

doing.

Jesus in one statement communicated relationship dynamics of a submitted and

surrendered life.

If we truly have a life that is surrendered, then Jesus becomes our pattern and we live-out

this pattern through our Earthly authorities…

  •  It starts in school… you see what the teacher is doing and you do the same

  • Then we get our first job… you have a boss, supervisor or even a trainer and they show you how they function (even down to the time to be there, the time to eat lunch, where to eat lunch and what to do at the end of the day)

  • If you are parents we do exactly the same in our homes… you show your child how you keep your home, when they can watch TV, what to watch on TV and rules you keep for being accountable

  • THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN GOD…

o  We have an Apostle in this house…

o  His life is a model for prayer

o  His life is a model for discipleship

o  His life is a model for holy living

o  His life is a model for obedience before God

Here is where the rubber meets the road with me. I wasn’t raised in church BUT I was

raised in a structured household… I was mentored on a job… even in college I was taught

a certain way. But when it came down to the Kingdom, my natural intelligence took over

and I thought I had it figured out.

Can anyone besides me relate?

REMEMBER JESUS SAID: The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what he sees the

Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does.

But what was the cost? For Jesus it would have meant the Salvation of all the world! But

many think like I did… ok, what’s the big deal?

  • The cost was relationships that were fractured and irreparably damaged due to compromise on the altar of my independence

  • The cost was a delay in what God has promised, prophesied and showed me through His Word

  • The cost was my life in God was put on hold…off-track… and risking others will follow because I say all the right things and appear that I am close to the Man of God, Apostle McKenzie

Jesus said that you will know them by FRUIT they bare. If you live a submitted life, there

should be some evidence, and that evidence is not proximity or ministry responsibilities…

IT IS CHRIST!

LISTEN AGAIN TO WHAT JESUS SAID: The Son can’t independently do a thing, only

what he sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does. The Father loves

the Son and includes him in everything he is doing. Jesus conveys in this submitted life that we win in the end! WIN, HOW? The Father will include you and I in whatever He is doing!

Psalm 37:4 (TPT): Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life

and he will provide for you what you desire the most

Just because I am here on the prayer line leading or reading announcements, leading in

an area of ministry… it doesn’t reveal that I have in anyway made it or I am the pattern…

NO, The Lord has given us Apostle McKenzie as our pattern for a LIFE IN CHRIST… (in 1

Cor 11:1 AMP translation, Apostle Paul said, Pattern yourselves after me [follow my

example], as I imitate and follow Christ)

1 Corinthians 11:1 (AMP): Pattern yourselves after me [follow my example], as I

imitate and follow Christ)

We can do nothing independent of the pattern and example Jesus has given us…

We have men/women of God who lead us by their life (not church life, not preaching life,

not prayer life… LIFE that is one in Christ)…

We should have faith and trust that this pattern will;

  • PLEASE GOD ABOVE ALL

  • ANSWER THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART

  • LEAD OTHER IN A LIFE IN CHRIST

Proverbs 10:17 (AMP): He who heeds instruction and correction is [not only himself] in

the way of life [but also] is a way of life for others. And he who neglects or refuses reproof

[not only himself] goes astray [but also] causes to err and is a path toward.

John 14:12a (NKJV):The Answered Prayer “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who

believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also…
