THE REWARD OF PURSUING AND KNOWING GOD Part II: Apostle Emanu-el J. McKenzie

WHAT IS THE EVIDENCE THAT I’M A SERIOUS SEEKER OF THE LORD :

Jeremiah 29:11-14a (MSG)

"I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.12 When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.13 When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, 14 I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. God’s Decree."

HOW INTENSE IS MY PURSUE FOR GOD:

Psalms 63:8 (TPT)

"With passion I pursue and cling to you. Because I feel your grip on my life, I keep my soul close to your heart."

1. You will never be passionate about nor crave for anything that’s not valuable, real or beneficial to you.

2. Passion: Intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction.

SETTING MY LOVE ON THE LORD IS A CHOICE:

Psalms 91:14-16 (AMP)

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness--trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation."

1. There is a sevenfold promise in these two verses that God says he will fulfill if we get to know His name which is having a personal knowledge of His mercy, love, and kindness: so we can trust and rely on Him.

THE PRICE PAYED REVEALS THE VALUE:

Matthew 13:44 (NKJV)

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."

Matthew 13:45-46 (NKJV)

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it."

1. Notice they found something that was more valuable than all that they possessed and sold all their possessions to buy that was more valuable and precious him.

SELF DENIAL IS THE ENTRANCE INTO LIFE IN THE SPIRIT:

Matthew 16:24 (AMP)

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also]."

Matthew 16:25 (MSG)

"Self–help is no help at all. Self–sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self."

John 6:38 (NKJV)

"For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me."
