The Importance of Time: Use It Wisely-Pastor Berlisa Knowles-Smith

God shut down the world to give us time to get back on course. What are we doing with the time God has giving us? *God is giving us an opportunity to redefine our priorities, So make a note of that and make a decision to review your life. God is giving us an opportunity to redefine our purpose: Are we still on course for what we was born to do. * God is giving us an opportunity to reestablish our worth while goals, worth while, it should be worth your while. You can establish goals that can waste your time, because they don’t take you towards your destiny, or your purpose!

So go back, don’t be afraid to reevaluate somethings and mark out somethings that don’t make sense to your purpose.Don’t be afraid to give up things thats not important anymore. It just means that you have grown and you see things differently. Don’t be afraid to confess I was off with that, Let me get back on track. It’s better to do it now then to do it later

God is giving us an opportunity to bury the pass, and move into the future that He have created for us. Let’s take a moment right now to ask for forgiveness.

God has giving us time!

Ephesians 5:14-18 (AMP) 14 For this reason He says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.” 15 Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], 16 [making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is. 18 Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.

Ephesians 5:14-18 gives great advise for our life. It begins by saying Wake up! Paul was not talking to sleeping people physically, He was speaking to people who was sleeping through life wasting time. Day to day routine, same traffic jam, same clothes, same activities, same habits, he said, Wake up! You can be walking and sleep, you can spend years sleep walking. Wake up old sleeper, Arise! That means get yourself up! Arise means no one is going to change your condition, Arise is self initiated action. Nothing will change until you change it!

Wake up! What’s left of this year should be a time of application! Every theory and every principle you gotten, every revelation you got from God, The man and women of God on the kingdom, God said, I want you to apply them to your life in this season. This is a time of application. I want wisdom this season, Why? The next verse says, redeeming the times because we don’t have much time. The days are evil meaning the days are short.

Redeem the times means living in a way that everyday is a day of passion, means I’m going to get back everything that I have lost by bad use of time.Jesus died at thirty-three, He did so much in three years,

His ministry lasted three years and He saved the world in three years

That’s what I call using your time wisely! * How long have you been living? What have you accomplished? How many disciples have you made? Find out the will of God for your life, so you won’t be wasting time, your energy, your gifts, your talents. The will of God is suppose to dictate your schedule. The will of God is suppose to dictate your company.

*Chose your company based on your destiny. * We must Understand the will of God for our lives in the mist of this pandemic. Do not be drunk with wine the scripture says, because this can destroy your time and make you lose focus Any habit that controls your life is a time stealer!

* It may not be alcohol

* It may not be drugs

* It may be social media

* It may be too much TV

* It may be the telephone

* What is stealing your time?

1 Corinthians 6:12-13 Amplified Bible (AMP) The Body Is the Lord’s 12 Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything [and brought under its power, allowing it to control me]. 13 Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will do away with both of

them. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again because of the sacrifice of the cross].

What is stealing your time?Anything habitual is dangerous, its a time stealer

Redeem means to own something, If I say redeem your time it means to take ownership of it again

We can not allow anyone or anything to control our time that is not important to your purpose.Redeem the time means you go back and get the time that was stolen.Whatever you do with your time is your life !Anyone or anything that’s consuming your time is consuming your life. Say,I will repossess my life,

* How? I’m going to control my time * Let me give you an Example: You might say, I will sit and read my Bible for 30 minutes means, You got to control that 30 minutes.

* You got to control that time

* We lost control

* Redeem the time

* If you don’t control your time you will miss your purpose!

* If you don’t control your time the devil will steal your destiny!

Colossians 4:5 Amplified Bible (AMP) Conduct yourself with wisdom in your interactions with outsiders (non-believers), make the most of each opportunity [treating it as something precious].

Walk with unbelievers wisely, they will eat your time up, don’t allow them to pull you away from your purpose. Wisdom is applied knowledge/ When you meet people see if they making sense, kick your knowledge in fast, some folks want appointments to talk foolishness. When you deal with people be wise! Protect your time! This is a season to do inventory, to take stock, and throw some old things out of your house. It might be habitsIt might be routines that’s not workingMake the most of every opportunity The devils greatest weapons is good things. The devils greatest weapons against God’s people is good things

Devil knows you’re not going to do bad things, he won’t temp you to do bad things, you’re too smart for that , so he gives you good things to do that are not in God’s will for you. Why? because all the devil wants is your time, He knows your time is your life!

So satan will give you a lot of good things, He will preoccupy you which is very dangerous!

He will get you working with things that God never told you to do and they are all good things

The secret to protecting your time is knowing your purpose, because your purpose protects you from doing good things at the expense of doing the right things! This is why you can say no very easy. This season, beginning this week there will be a lot of opportunities coming your way and some will be dress demonically, in good stuff. Good is not always God!

All kind of deals, options, businesses will be coming your way, offers, You must have the spirit of God to discern because the devil is after your time. Your time is your life! Worshipping God is a good thing: King Solomon disobeyed God, He brought a sheep back to the camp to worship with, God told him to kill all the animals, The prophet came and said to him, did you obey the Lord and He said yes, the prophet said, what is that I hear behind the tent.

* It is more important to obey God then to worship God

* Obedience is better than sacrifice

* We tell God what is good for him, I’m doing this for you God.

* It is what God tell you to do that is good!

* The prophet said, because you disobeyed God, you are no longer king

* It’s more important to obey God then to worship His

* Obeying the laws of the Lord is better than singing in the choir

* Obeying God is more important then preaching in the pulpit

* God fired many preacher long time ago for not obeying Him

* When Saul was fired He was still wearing the crown

*This season manage your time. *Make your plans with the purpose of God for your life

Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him],

And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].

Proverbs 16:9 (AMP) A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life],

But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.

Psalm 31:15-16 (AMP) My times are in Your hands; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue and persecute me. 16 Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your lovingkindness.
