Prepare Yourselves- Pastor Berlisa Knowles-Smith

All of this, All of what’s happening in the earth, including this time of fasting, returning to God, is just preparation of what’s to come.

We are preparing for God’s next move!

Prepare means - make (someone) ready or able to do or deal with something.

There’s a recurring unction in this season, and many who walk in the spirit are hearing the same spiritual “whispers” – preparation, acceleration, and expectation. This all points to divine alignment and harvest up ahead.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (AMP) Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] men and be courageous; be strong.

Sometimes, we don’t have an understanding of what all this means. We wonder if we are in the right place to receive the scheduled outpour of God. In our zeal, we can sometimes rush into things, or on the other hand, we become lackadaisical towards these messages.

The Bible tells us in

1 Peter 1:13: (AMP) So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit—steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

God is never late,  It’s clear that timing is everything.

What are you preparing for? In my case, I am in a position where I’m waiting to receive my next assignment from God. I know that my current job is not all He has for me, and while I am very grateful, I know there’s more. I have a few business ideas that I petitioned God about, but all I keep hearing is prepare, get ready.

What are we preparing for?  We are preparing for The scheduled outpour of God.

Luke 21:36 (AMP) But keep alert at all times [be attentive and ready], praying that you may have the strength and ability [to be found worthy and] to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man [at His coming].”

Acts of Preparation

If you are feeling the tug to get ready for what’s next, but you’re not sure how to:

1. Keep your mind clear and immediately cancel all negative thoughts (practice emptying your mind of all thoughts)

Casting down imaginations (not accepting the devils thoughts, suggestions, visions) is a spiritual weapon that you must use to be victorious over the enemy. You must learn to actively fight to maintain God's vision for you.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP) We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ,

2. Listen intently throughout your day with expectation.

(The scary thing is that if we’re not paying attention, we can miss what His still small voice is saying!)

This is a time be quite and listen.

3. Live peaceably with all (Avoid conflict, strife, and discord) A life at peace is better equipped to hear from God, and follow His steps to the next level. Strife and discord are tools of distraction from our enemy.

Romans 12:18 (AMP) If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 13:11 (AMP) Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency]; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ].

4. Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit (We are always learning and growing.) Continue doing the work of producing more love, joy, peace, faith, and other fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22 (AMP) But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Make your harvest beautiful through continued obedience to God’s word.

Make the necessary sacrifices and adjustments to get to that next dispensation.

1 Peter 3:15 (AMP) But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope andconfident assurance that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect.

Prepare Yourselves for God’s next move!

2 Timothy 4:2 (AMP) preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual maturity], with patience and [faithful] teaching.

Let’s stay on point and get ready for what the Lord is doing next.

Proverbs 4:23 (AMP) Watch over your heart with all diligence,For from it flow the springs of life.
