Humble Yoursselves- Pastor Patricia Monthgomery

2 Chronicles 7:12-16 (NIV): the Lord appeared to him at night and said: I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. 13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

Proverbs 29:23 (NKJV): A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.

Psalm 113:6 (NKJV): Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?

Make Straight The Way of the Lord- Rhonda Ferguson-Lewis

John 1:19-23 (NIV) Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders[a] inJerusalemsentpriests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.” 21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” 22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”

2 Timothy 3: 1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

4 Steps to Successfully Cange Your Garments

1. Hearing the instructions from your leader

Luke 8:8, 15, 18 (NKJV): But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded [a]a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit withpatience. 18 Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he [a]seems to have will be taken from him.”

2. Destroy every idol

Psalms 106:36 (NKJV): They served their idols,Which became a snare to them.

Isaiah 42:8 (NKJV): I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another,Nor My praise to carved images.

Isaiah 44:9 (NKJV): Those who make an image, all of them are useless,And their precious things shall not profit; They are their own witnesses; They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.

3. Wash yourself and be cleansed

4. Change your garments

Joel 2:13 (NKJV): So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.
