Proverbs 21:3 (ESV) To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Jeremiah 7:21-23 (ESV): Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices. But this command I gave them: “Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.”
Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV): And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Deuteronomy 8:1-7 (AMP) “Every commandment that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, so that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore (to give) to your fathers. And you shall remember (always) all the ways which the Lord your God has led you these 40 years in the wilderness, so that he might humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart (mind), whether you would keep his commandments or not. He humbled you and allowed you to be hungry and fed you with manna, (a substance) which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, so that he might make you understand (by personal experience) that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your feet swell these 40 years. Therefore, known in your heart (be fully cognizant) that the Lord your God disciplines and instructs you as a man disciplines and instructs his son. Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk (that is, to live each and everyday) in his ways and fear (and worship) him (with awe-filled reverence and profound respect)
9. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 (KJV) And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
